FLORENCE H.S. COFFEE GYM

FLORENCE H.S. COFFEE GYM

Owner: Florence City Schools

Completed: 2001

Square Footage: 37,151 sf

Contractor: Hall & Watson Construction Company

The Coffee Gymnasium was constructed to be a competition gym for the then Coffee High School. The topography of the site allowed LED to design the facility with the public entrance located on the upper level with access to seating from a mezzanine balcony around the perimeter of the building, keeping the public off the playing court. The upper level includes the public restrooms and concessions stand in a spacious lobby. The court located on the lower level accommodates cross-court play on 4 sidecourt goals with the bleachers in the retracted position. Provisions were also made for varsity volleyball to be played on the main court. There are four boys’ and girls’ varsity and P.E. dressing rooms on the lower level under the lobby.
